Cities of the UK

You learn 25 UK cities by thinking nation first, then region, then city.

How to find it again

  1. Think about the nation first.
  2. In England, think about the part: North, Midlands or South.
  3. Find that part on the map.
  4. Tap the dot there.

A worked example

Tap Leeds.

  1. Think: which nation is it in? That is England.
  2. Find the North of England, one of the three parts of England.
  3. Look in Yorkshire and the Humber and tap the dot.

Watch out

  • You tap Manchester when Liverpool is asked.

Both are in the North West. Liverpool is on the coast, and Manchester is inland, east of Liverpool.

Tips

  • Derry is also called Londonderry. Both names are right.
  • Newcastle is short for Newcastle upon Tyne.

Why it works

Twenty-five cities are a lot to learn one by one. If you know the nation and the region, you only have to search a small part of the map. And many big cities sit on a river or on the coast.
