z and / — the bottom corners
You learn the z and the forward slash: your pinkies curl one row down to the corners.
How to find the key
- Curl your left pinky from the a down to the z.
- Curl your right pinky from the semicolon down to the forward slash.

- Tap it three times and go back.
- Press the space bar.
- Curl your right pinky down from the semicolon to the forward slash.
More examples
z/ /z z/
- Tap the z with your left pinky.
- Tap the slash with your right pinky.
- Return to the home row each time.
zip zoo
- Type zip: the z with your left pinky, then the i and the p.
- Press the space bar.
- Type zoo.
Watch out
You lift your whole hand to reach the z.
Curl only the pinky and keep your other fingers down.
Tips
- The z is the least used letter in English, so every correct tap counts.
- Go back to the home row after each corner.
Why it works
The z is below the a and the slash is below the semicolon. They are the outer keys of the bottom row. Now you know every letter on the keyboard.
